Keindahan menjadi sebuah kasta yang menunjukkan sifat dan bentuknya, bahwa keindahan penguasa berbeda dengan keindahan masyarakat pada umumnya. Karena keindahan penguasa bersifat paksaan dan doktrin yang mendominasi

nilai keindahan. Hal itu telah dibuktikan dalam sejarah kita, mulai zaman kolonial, orde lama dan orde baru, bagaimana keindahan seni sesuai dengan apa yang menjadi keinginan penguasa.

Begitu juga keindahan yang dipahami oleh para seniman yang berpendidikan menjadi sebuah keindahan yang akademik yang hanya bisa diapresiasi oleh kalangan tertentu, seni menjadi jejaring diantara para seniman, kritikus, kurator, kolektor dan institusi seni yang merepresentasikan akademisi, menggeluti pengetahuan seni dan teori seni. Karena kesenian itu merupakan keterkaitan dengan sebuah bentuk dan warna social lainnya, maka seni menjadi sebuah realitas keindahan didalam kehidupan masyarakat. Membuat keindahan seni, lalu tidak terpolarisasikan seperti apa yang sekarang terjadi dalam kehidupan masyarakat pada saat ini.

Beauty has become a cast which shows its character and form. The beauty of the authority is different from the beauty of the public in general. The beauty of the authority is forceful and dominating the value. It has been demonstrated in our history since the colonial era, the old as well as the new order, that beauty must be in line with the desire of the authorities. The same also with the beauty conceived by the educated artists become academic beauty which can be appreciated only by certain groups of people.

In that case, art becomes a network among artists, critics, curators, collectors, and art institutes representing tendencies in art and theory on art. Since art is connected to social forms and tendencies, art has become a reality of beauty in public sphere. As such, to create the beauty of art cannot be polarized as it is now taking place in public life.

Hari Film Nasional kita peringati setiap tanggal 30 Maret bertepatan dengan hari pertama syuting film Darah dan Doa karya Usmar Ismail enam puluh tahun yang lalu. Saat ini kita masih terus menghadapi persoalan penting, bahkan bahan tentang sejarah film pun tidak bisa kita nikmati dengan layak. “Sejarah adalah sekarang” merupakan tawaran Kineforum untuk terus menerus melakukan upaya melestarikan warisan sejarah film Indonesia supaya generasi saat ini maupun yang akan datang tetap merasa ikut memiliki dan bisa menikmatinya. Selain itu masa kini adalah masa yang tepat untuk melihat perkembangan film di Indonesia yang semakin memperlihatkan eksistensinya. Kineforum – DKJ ingin mengajak berbagai pihak bersama-sama menyambut hari besar bagi masyarakat film di Indonesia melalui serangkaian acara yang akan di selenggarakan.

The National Film Day is commemorated every 30 March the first shooting day of “Darah dan Doa” directed by Usmar Ismail sixty years ago. Now, we are still facing problems that prevent us from watching the history of film in a proper way.

“History is Now” is a continued program offered by Kineforum in an effort to preserve the legacy of the history of Indonesian films so that the present as well as the future generations have the sense of belonging and be able to enjoy them. Now, is the proper time to see the development of film in Indonesia which is demonstrating its existence. The Kineforum of the Jakarta Arts Centre wishes to invite various parties to join hand-in-hand in welcoming the important day for the Indonesia’s film society through the following series of events.

Merupakan pameran 3 dimensi yang diperkasai oleh kebersamaan yang bertemu di satu titik perubahan yaitu PASCA SEJARAH. Para alumni Studio Patung IKJ adalah para pematung yang saat ini amat memberi ‘warna’ dalam percaturan seni patung di Indonesia. Patung mereka saat ini, begitu di minati, mengemuka di banyak pembahasan senirupa, dan menyeruk di berbagai perhelatan galeri. Tentu, ini merupakan suatu proses dari usaha keras mereka, yang tak lelah mengemban misi utama kehidupan kreativitas, yaitu eksistensial kreativitas setiap jaman, ruang dan waktu.

Sculpture Exhibition EXIT

The exhibition presents a three dimension sculptors initiated by the former alumni of the Jakarta Arts Institute with the central theme of POST HISTORY. The alumni of Studio Patung IKJ (The Jakarta Arts Institute Sculpture Studio) consists of sculptures who are now playing a significant VALUE to the development of the art of sculpture in Indonesia. Among them are: Yani Maryani, Hardiman Rajab, Agoes Saliem, Dolorosa Sinaga, Bernauli Pulungan.

At present, their works are highly appreciated and become the focus of many art criticisms, and displayed in various galleries. No doubt, it is the result of their hard work in presenting the main mission of their creativity, that is to exist in every era, space, and time.
